British Orienteering and Enrich Education partner to promote the 2024 World Orienteering Championships
Sprint World Orienteering Championships Races in Edinburgh This July!
A new partnership is working together to make the event fun for families and schools across the UK
The 2024 World Orienteering Championships (WOC 24), which take place in Scotland’s magnificent capital city of Edinburgh, will be a wonderful international showcase of the sport of orienteering. Enrich Education are extremely proud to have been invited to work in partnership with the British Orienteering Federation, Scottish Orienteering and International Orienteering Federation, to support WOC 24. Members of the Enrich team are delighted to be travelling to Edinburgh and will play their part in promoting orienteering with a series of Scotland-themed orienteering activities, centred around a special orienteering maze. These will be open to spectators, families and the wider community and will provide a fun and inclusive introduction to the sport of orienteering, as well as demonstrating its versatility and variety.
In addition, through the partnership work, Enrich has produced a special free WOC 24 orienteering resource pack for schools, providing schools with information about the championships, together with a set of downloadable interactive orienteering control markers, and a selection of cross-curricular orienteering activities and resources that teachers can use with their class.
“Everyone at Enrich Education is immensely excited by the opportunity to contribute to WOC 24, in partnership with our friends at International Orienteering Federation, British Orienteering and Orienteering Scotland. says Matthew Vaudrey, Managing Director at Enrich Education “We look on our presence at WOC 24 as the culmination of the work that we have done to develop school orienteering since 2014, but also as a springboard that will enable us to introduce the wonderful sport of orienteering to even more children and young people in the future.”
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Enrich Education to promote the World Orienteering Championships taking place in Edinburgh over the 11-16 July” says British Orienteering’s Chief Executive Peter Hart “This collaboration aims to provide young people across the United Kingdom with the opportunity to experience orienteering at a level that suits them. By offering a range of resources, we hope to inspire a new generation of orienteers who will continue to enjoy and develop their skills in this exciting sport throughout the summer and beyond. Together with Enrich Education, we are committed to fostering a love for orienteering, encouraging physical activity, and promoting outdoor learning. We believe this initiative will make a significant impact on the lives of young people, nurturing their sense of adventure and helping them build valuable skills.”
