Activity: Addition of 3 or 4 Single-Digit Numbers

Children use their Enrich school orienteering maps to locate specific control points. At each one, they record either the 2nd, 3rd and 4th numbers or all 4 numbers from the control marker, and then add them together.

Summary

  1. Pupils use the Enrich school orienteering map to locate their starting point and specific control points.
  2. At each control point, pupils fill in either the 2nd, 3rd and 4th or all four numbers from the control marker on their Activity Sheet.
  3. Using mental strategies, they then add the numbers together.
