Activity: Make the Biggest Number – Orienteering Challenge

Children select orienteering control points and choose numbers from the markers to complete a set of sums. Their challenge is to end up with the biggest number possible after completing the four sums on their Activity Sheet.

Summary

  1. Children use their orienteering map to locate and select control points.
  2. At each one they select, they choose numbers to create sums as indicated on their Activity Sheet. Each sum is linked to the answer of the previous one.
  3. Their challenge is to select numbers so that they end up with the biggest number possible after completing the four sums on their Activity Sheet.
