Activity: Making Biggest and Smallest Numbers

Pupils use their Enrich school orienteering maps to locate specific control points. At each one, they record the four numbers from the control marker. They use these in a variety of ways to create ‘biggest’ and ‘smallest’ numbers.

Summary

  1. Pupils use the Enrich school orienteering map to locate their starting point and specific control points.
  2. At each control point, pupils fill in the four numbers from the control marker on their Activity Sheet.
  3. Pupils must use the numbers on the control markers to make biggest / smallest numbers as instructed on their Activity Sheet: biggest/smallest number using all four marker numbers; biggest number that is less than 100; smallest double-digit number that is less than 100.
