Activity: Number Circuits

Pupils play an active game to reinforce their mental arithmetic ability – addition and subtraction.

Summary

  • Pupils are in small teams and run around a circuit with numbers placed at points around the circuit.
  • They either add up the numbers as they go around the circuit, or subtract each one from a ‘starter number’.
  • When they have completed the circuit, they check their final number with the teacher to see if it is correct.
