Children listen as the adult calls a word. They then have to select the correct word from word cards on a ‘washing line’.

Activity: Phoneme Manipulation 2
Children ‘capture’ letters by chasing and tagging other children. They then use these to change existing CVC / CCVC / CVCC words and so create new words.
Summary
- One group of children hold up letters. The other group of children have to chase and tag them to capture the letter.
- Working with the other children in their group, they use the letters that they have captured to change a set of words, creating new words by changing or adding letters.
