Activity: Sentence Construction – Fronted Adverbials

Children locate control points and use the letters from the control markers to complete a set of conjunctions. They use these to begin sentences (making fronted adverbials) then think of imaginative ways to complete the sentences.

Summary

  1. Children use their Enrich orienteering map to locate control points.
  2. At each one, they use letters from the control marker to complete a conjunction.
  3. When they have collected all the conjunctions, they insert them at the beginning of sentences (making a fronted adverbial) and then think of an imaginative way to complete the sentence.
