Activity: Vocabulary Stories

Children locate orienteering control points and use the letters from the control markers to complete a set of words which they can use to re-draft, improve and finish a simple story.

Summary

  1. Children begin by reading a brief story outline.
  2. Using their orienteering map, they locate a series of orienteering control points.
  3. At each one, they use letters from the control marker to complete a set of words that they will use in the follow-on activity to help them to re-draft, improve and finish the story.
