Pupils play an active game where they practise creating and correctly spelling words of different lengths.

Summary

Pupils are in pairs.
The teacher calls out the numbers of letters that they must use (e.g. ‘5 letter word’) and each pair runs to select letter cards to use to create a word of that length.
They then run to the end of the playing area and use the letters to ‘spell’ their word.
