Summary

  1. Split the children into small groups, select two groups to play against each other.
  2. Children are provided with a battleship orienteering activity sheet. They must write down a marker number for each of their battleships.
  3. Once both teams have wrote down their marker numbers they must now take it i turns to try and locate the oppositions battleships. Each group will select a control marker and provide the correct 4 figure grid reference. If it is a correct marker both teams must then navigate to the marker and collect the correct information and carry on the game.

Summary

  1. Children work in a small grouop to plan a circuit which starts/finishes at one of the markers and incorporates several other markers.
  2. The size of their circuit should add up to 1 mile when completed a set number of times.
  3. They must measure the size of potential circuits by measuring the distance in cm between individual markers on their Enrich School Orienteering map and then converting this to metres, using the scale on their map.
