The children are in two groups. Group 1 children make pairs with letter cards that are an initial consonant and the letters that spell a split digraph. Group two children have cards which are different consonants.
Group 1 children have to chase and capture a group 2 child to make a word which contains a split digraph.

Children are in teams. Each team runs to collect a selection of vowel digraph cards.
They bring their cards back to their team and use them together with their team’s consonant cards to make as many ‘vowel digraph’ words as possible.

Children each have a letter card, which is one of the letters from a selection of consonant digraphs.
The adult calls a word which contains one of the selected digraphs and children holding a letter from that digraph have to make a pair with the second letter.
